Baked Spaghetti in Garlic Bread

One of my sorority sisters made this recipe a few months ago and she said that everyone loved it. J. and his roommates are big fans of Italian food, so I decided to try it. The original recipe comes from Rhodes Bread.

Ingredients:
-1 Loaf Rhodes Bread Dough or 12 Rhodes Dinner Rolls, thawed to room temperature
-6 oz spaghetti, cooked
-1 cup thick spaghetti sauce
-8 oz mozzarella cheese, cut into 1/2 –inch cubes
-1 egg white
-Parmesan cheese
-Parsley flakes
-Garlic Powder

Roll the loaf of bread or the dinner rolls flat.
Make spaghetti, stir in whatever kind of sauce you'd like.

Pour the spaghetti into the center of the bread.
Top with cheese.
We had a mis-communication about the cheese, the recipe calls for cubed, I had slices.
Almost done.
Cut strips down each side.
Braid the loaf by taking all of the pieces across to the other side, they'll overlap each other.

It should look like this.
Brush with the egg white.
Add the seasoning.
Bake for 30-35 minutes at 350.
Slice and serve.

All of J.'s roommates really liked this recipe and enjoyed multiple servings for dinner. This was a nice twist on spaghetti and garlic bread. I wish that I had added more seasoning, especially the garlic powder, we were all in consensus that more garlic would have made this recipe even better. Another suggestion from his roommates was to add a little salt and pepper to the spaghetti before braiding the loaf.

Overall though, this recipe is worth trying and this is something that we will be making again. It was cheap and easy to put together, the perfect week night dinner.
