Sweet Waffle Grilled Cheese

Those of you who are regular readers of the blog are not surprised that anything can be used as a vehicle for cheese or that anything can be grilled to make a delicious sandwich. This sandwich takes Belgian waffle quarters, use whatever recipe you'd like to use or if you don't feel like cooking, use some frozen waffles.

A Vegetarian & Cooking! original.

Ingredients:
-Belgian Waffle quarters
-brie

maple sugar glaze
-3 tablespoons maple syrup
-3 tablespoons brown sugar

Melt butter in a skillet.

Sandwich brie, I did mine without the rind, you can leave it on.
Cook until crispy on both sides.

To make the maple glaze, heat the syrup and brown sugar in a skillet until thickened.

Pour the brown sugar glaze over your sandwich.

This was really good, the saltiness of the brie went well with the sweetness of the maple sugar glaze. This needs to be eaten with a fork, the maple sugar glaze is really sticky. Otherwise, very easy to make and very delicious. This is a pretty sweet sandwich, I would recommend serving it as a dessert not as a breakfast dish.
